The Finnish definition for packaging producer responsibility changes on the 1st January 2024.
The threshold of a revenue of at least one million Euro per year no longer applies. This opens the extended producer responsibility (EPR) for an estimated 30.000 companies that are making packed products available on the Finish market each year.
The EPR obligations are covered by so-called producer organisations to which the responsibility is transferred to. There are two packaging producer organisations available on the Finish market.
