The Spanish legislation Act 7 /2022 is in force since the 1st January 2023. Based on this Act, producers and introducers of non-recycleable plastic packaging are obliged to pay a plastic tax. In the course of the declaration, a certification of the packaging will be required by an accredited body starting the 1st January 2024.
In the transition period, a valid documentation of the packaging materials by the suppliers of the packaging materials is accepted by the authorities.
