Canada proposes a regulatory framework for recycling percentages and labelling obligations for plastics.

 

Furthermore, a proposal of installation of a federal plastics register has been communicated. This central register shall cover a range of products including electrical and electronic equipment and packaging. Along with the obligation to register, companies which put equipment in scope onto the market would be obliged to report data regularly.

The deadline for any comments to these proposals is the 18th May 2023.
